THE CHIMES PROJECT

Aims. Objectives. Target groups.

CHIMES includes partners from 7 countries which are affected by the issues at stake.

CHIMES targets disadvantaged young people who feel isolated or excluded from mainstream society, whether real in terms of social and economic exclusion, or imagined for cultural, personal or mental health reasons.

Using music, dance and performing arts as the vehicle, bringing together the creative industries with the second chance education sector, CHIMES will help disadvantaged young people develop transferable skills and competences such as citizenship, communications, teamwork and problem solving.

This will contribute to their employability, build resilience, raise self-esteem and self-confidence, develop a sense of self-worth and value within the community.

WHAT ARE OUR AIMS?

  • Set up links with local organisations, groups and individuals in the creative arts industries.

  • Organise creative workshops for disadvantaged young people.

  • Organise/participate in local festivals to demonstrate the skills and competences achieved by the target group.

  • Organise community exhibitions to showcase the work of the disadvantaged young people.
